If yes, then this is the course for you.
In this course you will gain a strong understanding of the history of physiotherapy and its relationship to other body systems such as the skeletal, muscular and neuromuscular systems. You will examine the role of prevention within the science by focusing on both injury prevention and ergonomics.
Specific diseases will be discussed such as osteoporosis and back pain as well as other types of treatment such as acupuncture and hydrotherapy. The course will then conclude with understanding the role of a physiotherapist in relation to other treatments such as alternative therapies, sports coaches, personal trainers and osteopaths.
What can you do following the course?
For all students, career coaching is available from a registered physiotherapist, who will discuss what is required to become a physiotherapist. The knowledge gain in this course could be used to work in a health shop, in a fitness centre, as a journalist and more. Even if you don’t plan to pursue being a physiotherapist as a career, it is great for those looking to make more informed decisions about their own health and their family. Although the course does not allow you to work as a registered physiotherapist, it is a great introduction into the field.
